WhatsApp to get voicemail and two other new features

WhatsApp is constantly updating features to its messaging platform, almost every week.

WhatsApp seems to be getting the best of updates, as compared to any app or software out there. Almost each week, sometimes even days, WhatsApp surprises us with additional features that can help benefit the users. It seems like the community, testers and developers are constantly turning the wheel of discovery and innovation to bring out additional features and options for all its users.

Big hoax: 'How to send WhatsApp messages without Internet'

This time, reports around the media world and those closely watching the development of WhatsApp mention that the messaging platform is in for some great features ahead. For starters, WhatsApp will now introduce the option of sharing compressed zip files. This means you can now send multiple files in a single archive, which could do good for photos and videos as they can bypass the immense compression which loses quality. This also means that you could send any type of file to your recipient, but it is not yet confirmed. As for now, you can send PDF, Doc, Sheets, and Slides.

On the second part is the call back feature—similar to your conventional phone calls, you get an alert on your notification bar that you missed a call on WhatsApp and you can hit the ‘call back’ button and start your conversation. You don’t need to open WhatsApp to see missed calls from your friends.

Lastly, the feature of Voicemail also seems in the pipeline. This feature seems to already exist in WhatsApp, but does not seem active or enabled as yet. The feature will (would) allow users to record and send voicemails to their contacts. However, this is not completely confirmed, but reports mention that the feature could be only applicable when you receive a call, but are on another call. So the system could allow the caller on a busy line, take (record) a message (voicemail) and store it for you.
