OnePlus had been teasing the Lava Red edition of the 5T on its social media channels since the last week. The company has now launched the 5T Lava Red for the Indian market for Rs 37,999 and will be on sale from 20th January on Amazon.in.

Unlike the 5T Star Wars Edition launched last month, the 5T Lava Red doesn’t have any special branding or additional features. The rear panel is painted with a special shade of red and whereas the face of the phone retains the black coloured panel. The company says that the Lava Red colour shade is achieved through an accurate combination of temperature, consistency and baking time with less than 0.01 per cent variation; even a micro deviation in any of the three aforementioned criteria would lead to 100 per cent scrapping of the devices. OnePlus has also included a new wallpaper unique to this edition for enhancing the user experience.
However, the Lava Red 5T won’t be any different when it comes to the regular 5T, which in our opinion isn’t certainly bad. It still uses the Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (a 6GB/64GB variant is also available in black only). It sports a 6.01-inch full HD+ AMOLED display and a 16MP + 20MP dual rear camera for enhanced low light photography. The smartphone is backed by a 3300mAh battery that supports OnePlus’ proprietary Dash Charging technology.
