Various leaks of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have been doing rounds of the Internet for a pretty long time and with Samsung already rolled out a teaser that confirms the Note 8’s launch, the world of smartphones is rubbing its hands in anticipations for the second Samsung flagship of this year. In the midst of Note 8 leaks, a new report has surfaced that claims a new gadget launch alongside the Note 8. The world could be looking at an AirPods rival from Samsung with Bixby being a major part of it.
Yes, the report from ETNews suggests that Samsung is working on a Bixby-powered wireless earphone. The earphone will be wireless, just like Apple’s AirPods. But, the differentiating factor between Samsung’s earphone and Apple’s AirPods will be Bixby – Samsung’s smart assistant. The report claims that the earphone will bring Bixby to the user even when the phone is not near the user. This means that Bixby will be on the earphone instead of a simple extended audio routing from the smartphone’s version.
The Bixby earphone is also supposed to feature an active noise cancellation technology. Now, this may sound to be nothing new in the world of earphones and headphones but Samsung’s earphone will use the term for a slightly different feature. The Bixby-powered earphone will be having the ability to eradicate noise and detect an individual’s specific voice, even in noisy environments.
The report also claims that a Samsung representative has confirmed the development of the Bixby-powered earphone. “When Bluetooth earsets for Bixby are released, we expect that they will be a great help in improving convenience level for users who are using our flagship Smartphones,” he said.
Bixby recently got an update in the US that enabled its voice recognition system on the Galaxy S8 handsets. With the Bixby-powered earphones, Samsung will look to make available a smart ecosystem for its popular flagship handsets that could rival that of Apple’s.
