Antigua: Team India’s loss to West Indies by 11 runs in the fourth One Day International would be a match they would like to forget.

After restricting the hosts to 189/9 in 50 overs, Jason Holder and the other West Indian bowlers came back strongly to bowl out India for 178 with just two balls to spare in the match. It was Kesrick Williams’ wicket of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the 49th over that faltered India’s chances of winning the match.

MS Dhoni’s fifty, in 108 balls, was the second slowest fifty by an Indian in ODIs. India’s Sadagoppan Ramesh currently holds the record for the slowest ever fifty, which came against Kenya in 1999. MS Dhoni, though, after the loss, has been criticised by many pundits for taking the match to the last over.

After the loss, a dejected Dhoni was seen sitting in the dressing room with almost tears in his eyes. Surely, the loss would have meant a lot to Dhoni, whose half century went in vain.

India will face West Indies in the fifth ODI at Jamaica on Sunday as they look to clinch the series 3-1, whereas the Windies will hope to level series 2-2.
