Mumbai: With added kidney trouble, underworld don Chhota Rajan believed that turning himself in was the best option.
Rajan, who faces acute kidney problems urgently needs a transplant. According to a Hindustan Times report a source was quoted as saying that both his kidneys have failed and he is on constant dialysis. He needs at least one new kidney to survive.
Meanwhile, Chhota Rajan’s nephew in Mumbai underwent tests at a hospital, to check if he can be kidney donor to his ailing uncle, Midday reported.
It was earlier reported that when the Indonesian police detained Rajan at the Bali airport, they found that he was wearing a strange belt on his waist. On a closer examination they found that he was reportedly wearing a Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) belt.

The underworld don is on the run for over two decades, and over the past few years, his kidney problems has worsened.
Rajan's family back in Mumbai is also breathing a sigh of relief after the news of the arrest as they were fretting for his safety and are now assured that he would be safe within the prison.
Chhota Rajan, one of India's most wanted criminals who has been on the run for nearly two decades, was arrested in Bali by Indonesian police. The arrest was made on a tip off from Australian police that 55-year-old Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje alias Mohan Kumar alias Chota Rajan, the powerful aide-turned-rival of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, has flown from Sydney to Indonesia's popular tourist destination Bali, a place he frequents to visit a hotel belonging to his aide Anil Chandra.
