Surgical strikes: Imran Khan says will show Sharif how to respond to Modi'

Khan will be carrying out a march in Raiwind on Friday and had vowed to give a befitting reply to India's surgical strikes at the event.

Lahore: Hours after news broke out that Indian Army carried out surgical strikes in Pakistan to dismantle terror camps, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan said he would show his country’s Prime Minister how to respond to the Narendra Modi government in Delhi.

"Initially I had to give a message to Nawaz Sharif, but tomorrow I will send a message to Modi too. I will show Nawaz Sharif how to respond to Modi," Khan was quoted in a report by Dawn.

Khan will be carrying out a march in Raiwind on Friday and had vowed to give a befitting reply to India’s surgical strikes at the event.

"People from all over Pakistan should participate in the march to display unity," he said.

The cricketer-turned-politician hit out at Nawaz Sharif for his ‘inability to govern’ the country and at the same time praised Pakistani Army chief Raheel Sharif.

India had carried out surgical strikes on seven terror launch pads across the LoC with the Army and said its special forces inflicted "significant casualties" on terrorists preparing to infiltrate from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir(PoK).

Defence sources said seven terror launch pads across the Line of Control(LoC) were destroyed by special forces of the Indian Army on the intervening night of September 28 and 29 in a nearly five-hour-long operation during which heliborne and ground forces were deployed.

However, Pakistan had rubbished India’s claim of carrying surgical strikes and said it only carried regular cross-border firing across the LoC.
