US, Britain stare at coldest winter

Below-average temperature will continue for the next three months in UK.

England: Latest weather news seems to be not in favor of Britain as another extreme weather forecast will follow the damages brought by Storm Angus in a few weeks.Britons are to expect their coldest winter with more gales and snow.

According to Euro News, the country was lashed by heavy rains, flash floods, and strong winds at the time Storm Angus. There were 17 flood warnings and 103 alerts issued by the Environment Agency.

After the devastation, weather forecasters say that the subtle changes in the atmosphere will cause the Polar air to sweep over Britain in the coming week.
It is most likely that the below-average temperature will continue for the next three months, the Express UK reported.

The main contributor to this change is the “weak Polar vortex” that is pushing the imminent freeze. Last weekend was reportedly the coldest night of autumn with the temperature at negative 9.8 Celsius at Loch Glascarnoch in the Scottish Highlands.

Meanwhile, the United States also could be in for a long, cold winter as snow cover in Siberia reaches its highest point for this time of year in decades, the father of the ‘Siberian Snow Theory’ has warned.

Snow cover in Siberia is sometimes used to predict winter weather in the US, and MIT climatologist Judah Cohen claims this year’s conditions are a ‘textbook situation,’ Bloomberg reports. It’s thought that more snow in northern Eurasia signals the frigid temperatures set to hit the regions below.

And while the cold blast could strike anywhere among North America, Asia, or Europe, the expert warns the US may get hit harder than forecasters are expecting. Adding to the claims, giant-sized snowballs have appeared along the Siberian coastline — which experts warn could have freezing consequences for the United States.
