Winds on wings: Dutch flight makes emergency landing as man won't stop farting'

The packed cabin turned chaotic when two Dutchmen seated next to the man requested him to stop, to no avail.

A low-cost Dutch flight en route to Amsterdam via Dubai had to make a sudden -- and absurd – landing at Vienna because of an aged passenger who refused to stop “farting.”

The pilot was forced to make an emergency landing as a fight broke out on board, the Mirror reported.

The packed cabin turned chaotic when two Dutchmen seated next to the man requested him to stop, to no avail.

Repeated appeals and even a direct order from the pilot fell on the flatulent man’s deaf ears when his co-passengers complained to Transvania Airlines crew leading to an altercation.

Following the dispute the pilot made an emergency at Vienna International Airport in Austria, when on board officers along with police dogs escorted four involved in the fight off the plane.

Before footage of the passengers being evacuated started making rounds the pilot reported "passengers on the rampage." The post which went viral on social media had been circulated by Alfred Dekker.

A police spokesman confirmed the incident and its bizarre root cause- a man who wouldn’t stop passing wind.

Two sisters who have claimed no involvement were also lead out of the plane, as they were seated in the same row. "It was crazy that we were included, we had no idea who these boys were, we just had the bad luck to be in the same row and we didn't do anything,” Nora Lachhab, 25, told De Telegraaf.

However, the spokesman insisted that the women were also guilty of misbehaviour and verbal abuse.

"Our crew must ensure a safe flight. When passengers pose risks, they immediately intervene - Our people are trained for that. They know very well where the boundaries are,” he said.

No arrests were made because nobody had broken any Austrian laws but Transvania imposed a travel ban on the four involved indicating that they were no longer welcome aboard.
