Will Apple's answer to Microsoft Surface kill the hybrid tablet? Find out now

Apple is now very close to launching a new rival to Microsoft's Surface

Microsoft and Apple are going head on in the 2-in-1 market. This is interesting after Apple had originally ignored this form factor and laughed off the first initial versions of the Surface tablet.

Apple is now very close to launching a new rival to Microsoft’s Surface. Source have indicated that the next month’s WWDC conference will host the unveiling of a 10.5-inch iPad Pro featuring a series of improvements which includes a new look with narrower bezels.

Now there are new leaks and renders which let us take a glimpse into how the new iPad Pro models look like. The reason is being the rumor where Apple wants to fit a 10.5-inch screen into the chassis of the original Pro model with 9.7-inch display.

And by the looks of things, Apple is going to do exactly that. There are photos by @ShaiMizrachi and revealing a new iPad Pro 10.5-inch case seem to suggest that a new model will be slightly bigger than the current version. This mean, despite the bigger dimensions of the screen, the device dimensions will be the same.

Furthermore, according to estimates posted by iDropnews, the upcoming iPad Pro will feature 7mm side bezels and 19mm bezels on the top and bottom of the display.

A different schematic also posted by 9to5mac after seeing a similar 10.5-inch iPad Pro case reveals that the new model will be 10.13 x 7.06 x 0.25 inches.

Among other features is the Home button which is likely to stay despite rumors stating otherwise. Also, Apple is looking to improve upon the keyboard and bring more updates to the Pencil which means the fight with Microsoft is getting hotter. Microsoft also revealed refined versions of these accessories at the latest Surface event.

The latest iPad will make its debut at the WWDC next month with pre-orders slated to start soon after. The order are expected to ship starting July.
