Apple will launch iPhone 10 in 2017, instead of iPhone 8: Analysts

Apple will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2017.

Apple will complete its 10 years in 2017, while Apple is expected to revamp its iPhone handsets with the launch of iPhone 8 analysts say Apple will skip the number ‘8’, and instead will launch iPhone 10 next year marking the 10th anniversary of the company.

Analysts predict that Apple sales would explode when it will launch successor to iPhone 7, likely to be called as “iPhone 10.” On October 25, Apple shared its latest quarter reports showing declining of iPhone sale. The company has been experiencing decline in sales from over three quarters now.

Experts said Apple iPhone customers are waiting for a big upgrade and thus they prefer to hold onto their old iPhone handsets for longer, until there is really something new coming out their way.

In a statement to Business Insider, Analyst Cowen’s Timothy Arcuri said “iPhone 7 is proving an effective 'bridge' to the iPhone 10 super-cycle in '17, where a powder keg of a dramatically aging installed base lurks just under the surface such that C17 Street revs/EPS are 10%+ too low. Raise target to $135, which even still seems too low.”

Apple has reportedly sold 45.5 million iPhone units in the quarter that ended this September, slightly more than the 45 million that Wall Street expected. However, it still sold 5 per cent fewer iPhones (about 48 million iPhones) it sold in the same period a year earlier.
