Samsung begins rolling out Bixby to select Galaxy S8, S8+ users

Samsung has started rolling a preview version of its digital voice assistant Bixby to Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones in the United States.

Samsung has started rolling a preview version of its digital voice assistant Bixby to Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones in the United States, months after its initial launch date. However the feature, for now, is limited to selected users who enrolled for the Bixby Early Access Programme last week, according to a report by Droid Life.

Bixby had undergone a couple of delays in the past few months. The first delay took place in March ahead of Galaxy S8 launch, whose USP was touted to be the digital voice assistant, but that it never happened.

In fact, some early analysers reported disappointing results from the voice-assistant at the time of Galaxy S8 and S8 + phone, where Bixby was introduced first. It was then said that Bixby will be delayed by a month. However, Bixby took more time. It struggled to learn English language and was told to be delayed by another month.

Samsung’s Bixby will only support US English and Korean.

An earlier report by The Wall Street Journal had said the English-language version of Bixby won’t likely to debut in the US until at least late June. The voice assistant is now expected to get rolled out on all Galaxy S8 devices by the end of this month or early July.
