Samsung Galaxy Note 7 to launch in India today, two more handsets expected

The Galaxy Note 7 was launched on August 2 for the US and other European markets.

Samsung will be launching its Galaxy Note 7 for the Indian market today at an event in New Delhi. The phablet was launched on August 2 for the US and other European markets. The company is also expected to unveil two more handsets at the launch, namely the Galaxy A9 Pro and the Tizen-based Z2.

As for the specifications, the Galaxy Note 7 sports a 5.7-inch QHD bezel less display and has a Exynos 8 SoC at its heart, backed by 6GB of RAM. The phablet runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has 64GB of internal storage capacity, which is expandable using a microSD card.

The device is also IP68 certified making it dust and water resistant. In the imaging department, the phablet will sport a 12-megapixel snapper on the rear panel, with dual-pixel technology, PDAF and LED flash. As for selfie fans, the Galaxy Note7 will have a 5MP shooter. There is 3600mAh battery on the phablet with support for super fast charging.

Talking of Z2, the smartphone is expected to boast a 4-inch AMOLED display and will be powered by a 32-bit quad-core CPU with 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE support. It will be juiced by a 2000mAh battery.

The Galaxy A9 Pro on the other hand, features a 6 inch display and is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snpadragon 652 processor with 4GB RAM.

The device runs Android 5.1.1 and is fuelled by a massive 5000mAh non removable battery. It has 32GB of internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 128GB. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, FM, 3G, 4G.

The Z2 is expected to be priced roughly around Rs 4,550 and will be available in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, as well as on the African continent, while the Galaxy A9 Pro is expected to be priced at Rs 35,000.

The price for the Galaxy Note 7 will be announced at the launch event. Stay tuned for the process to be announced post noon today.
