Apple iPhone 8 not delayed; could come with abilities to detect human emotions

Apple hasn't provided any official details regarding this, therefore; it still remains unclear as to what they plan on doing with the same.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 smartphone will enter mass production in mid-September, a new report from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests. In other words and contrary to leading rumours, the iPhone 8 launch is very much on track. Ming-Chi Kuo further claimed that Apple will also be releasing its iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models next month too.

The Cupertino tech giant was also granted a patent recently, which details out how the front-facing camera along with the light, proximity and other sensors found in the device could potentially measure body fat, perform electrocardiogram (ECG) readings and even estimate the user’s emotional state, DailyMail reported. “Electrical measurements may be used to measure heart function, computer an electrocardiogram, computer a galvanic skin response that may be indicative of emotional state and/or other physiological condition, and/or computer other health data such as body fat, or blood pressure,” the patent reads. It is safe to assume that the upcoming iPhone 8 with just its camera and light sensor alone, could collect data for oxygen saturation, pulse rate, perfusion index, breathing rate and circulatory conditions.

The patent further goes on to talk about how the technology could be used for a large variety of health purposes. “The health data may include one or more of a variety of different wellness, fitness, and/or other parameters relating to the health of a user such as a blood pressure index, a blood hydration, a body fat content, an oxygen saturation, a pulse rate, a perfusion index, an electrocardiogram, a photoplethysmogram, and/or any other such health data,' it reads. Apple hasn’t provided any official details regarding their latest patent, therefore; it still remains unclear as to what they plan on doing with the same.
