6GB RAM variant of Galaxy S8, S8+ on its way, could cost over $1000

The handsets will reportedly go on sale in three markets Canada, S. Korea and the United States, at first

Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to launch 6GB RAM variant of its newly launched Galaxy S8 and S8 + models, along with the release of the standard 4GB RAM variant, which is slated on April 21.

The firms is also considering to bring the 128GB of internal storage option in the handsets. The models will have an option to further expand the memory capacity using a microSD card.

However, with the upgrade to 6GB RAM, the Galaxy S8+ model is speculated to retail at a price over $1000, that is, more than Rs 67,000.

Pricing detail for the Galaxy S8 smartphone is not yet confirmed.

The variant, with 6GB RAM, were spotted certified by TENNA just before the flagship was unleashed globally.

Samsung showcased the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones in late March in New York, which come with a 5.8-inch screen and a 6.2-inch panel, respectively. Both boast double-edged Super AMOLED screens that give the illusion of having no bezels.

The handsets will reportedly go on sale in three markets— Canada, S. Korea and the United States, at first—and then roll out to other markets, including India, in the following weeks.
