Your Android phone can now take screenshots on your request

The Google Assistant can now take screenshots using the Ok Google' hotword, loses the screenshot button.

Google is continuously adding features to its AI-helper Assistant on all devices belonging to the Google ecosystem. The Assistant can already do a lot of functions on an Android smartphone through its hot word — Ok Google. Now, Google has added another feature to the Assistant that will eliminate any physical interaction with the smartphone — taking screenshots.

A server-side update to the Google Assistant will not let users take a screenshot of whatever screen they want to take through the ‘Ok Google’ hot word. That means that you don’t have to perform pesky button combinations on your smartphone just to take a screenshot of your chats or anything else you fancy. Google has even removed the screenshot button from the Assistant interface.

Is there any improvement to the screenshot quality? Users could no more see the bottom navigation bar attached to the screenshots. Also, if you are taking a screenshot of your home screen, then you will also get the screenshot devoid of any notification logos on the notification bar. Of course, if you feel that this method isn’t convenient, you still have your good old volume-power button combo.
