Earlier this month, Instagram took the internet by storm by quite blatantly copying Snapchat’s primary story feature. Just when the discussion over ethics of such mainstream plagiarism was being buried among other news, Instagram decided to make yet another surprising move.
As opposed to Snapchat, Instagram Stories will now be recommending accounts to follow on the Explore Tab of the page. This will be decided on the basis of the user’s Instagram activity.
An Instagram spokesperson confirmed the testing of this feature with SocialTimes via email: “We’re excited to bring Stories to Explore in the coming weeks. Explore is where people go to discover new accounts to follow and content to enjoy. It’s a great surface to highlight all amazing stories that people are creating.”
It seems like Instagram will ensure no leaves remain unturned when it comes to its latest addition. The question is, will Snapchat be affected by this?
