YouTube for Android gets a new interface

The Android app gains an inspiration from iOS for the revamped interface.

The YouTube app is one of the most used apps on today's smartphones, thanks to affordable rates for faster LTE internet. In order to delight its users, YouTube has been given a fresh interface for the Android platform. And, it looks very identical to the iOS version of the same.

The new app moves the navigation bar from the top to the bottom of the screen. The navigation bar on the bottom now shows the Home, Trending, Subscriptions, and Library tabs. The tabs glow in red when selected and make the interface more modern. Also, the Library tab loses the account settings to the top bar, alongside options for the search, cast video and upload video functions. Your uploaded or purchased videos are now housed in the Library section, apart from your YouTube watch history and playlists.

Google says that the new YouTube app for Android will also remember your last position on each tab, which should make it easier to resume and navigate your list of videos if you visit any other section or tab in the app.
