This guy plays the latest Forza racing game with a real-life Lamborghini

Car and gaming enthusiast POG's DIY gaming setup involves an XBOX One and a real-life Lamborghini as his gaming gear.

When Turn10 announced the seventh instalment of the popular Forza Motorsport video game franchise earlier this year, car enthusiasts around the world were excited to get behind the wheel of virtual supercars in mind-blowing race tracks in various conditions. Of course, you must have heard of players building a complete rig with wheel-based controllers, racing seats and proper audio gear for getting close to reality. One Forza player has taken the idea of immersive gaming to the next level.

When POG, a car and gaming enthusiast, decided to lay his hands upon a copy of Forza Motorsport 7, he wanted to get the most realistic experience. Since he owns a Lamborghini Aventador as his daily commute car, he decided to make a better use of it for his gaming setup.

POG used his garage as his gaming room, where he connected the XBOX One console with a projector. He then used sensor pads connected to another computer rig, which in turn was connected to the console for registering steering inputs. He also attached a keyboard on the spoiler for navigating through the game’s UI and a good quality helmet along with some comfortable racing gloves (just in case the car went into an uncontrolled oversteer in a corner).

POG’s video shows him driving his orange Aventador through Spa, racing alongside several other exotic supercars while sitting in his actual Aventador. If you watch the video carefully, you will see the twitchy (accurate for a fast Lamborghini) steering inputs that POG is able to do. As for the audio, he has to make do with the game’s exhaust notes as revving the Lamborghini inside a closed garage wouldn’t be short of generating a mini-earthquake in the locality.

If you have a host of other cars in your garage, like POG, you could also use actual cockpit setups from a McLaren 675LT or a Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta or even a Hyundai hatchback. There’s still scope for embedding more reality options to this game such as actual showers to emulate wet track conditions or smoking machines for foggy conditions.

So there you have it, boys and girls — if you are playing the latest Forza game and want the most realistic experience out of it, use a real Lamborghini’s wheel for the best driving experience.
