Lenovo launches Z2 Plus with Snapdragon 820 SoC in India

The smartphone ditches the Cyanogen OS and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company's own UI on the top.

Lenovo has announced the launch of its new Z2 Plus smartphone for the Indian market. The device is priced at Rs 17,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant, while the 4GB/64GB variant will cost Rs 19,999.

The smartphone is available exclusively through the e-commerce website Amazon India and will be available in Black and White colour variants. The device ditches the Cyanogen OS and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s own UI on the top.

It sports a 5-inch full HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The device also packs in a fingerprint sensor for added security.

It is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and LED flash, while there is an 8MP front facing camera also on board. It is juiced by a 3500mAh battery that comes with an intelligent charge cut-off feature. On the connectivity front the device offers 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and 4G while sensors include a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope.
