Amazon brings Alexa on its shopping app for Android

Amazon's Alexa will now be available to help shoppers with information as well as impressing them to go for their Echo smart speaker.

These days, the voice assistant is the trend of the technology world. Every software giant, as well as a device manufacturer, has been trying to get their name in the world of AI assistants. Amazon’s Alexa has been for some time in the market and it has got itself a complete ecosystem of devices. You can enjoy Alexa’s benefits on the Echo smart speaker as well as the Echo Show speaker with a display. Alexa has also been made available on HTC’s flagship smartphone – the U11. Now, it seems that Amazon wants Alexa to be a part of all the devices that run it Amazon shopping app.

According to a report from Android Authority, a Twitter user by the name of Nick Schwab has posted a tweet that shows that he received a notification on his Alexa app which says the Alexa is also available on the Amazon app. Although the e-commerce giant has made no official announcement, a report from TechCrunch claims that Alexa’s integration with the Amazon app is destined to roll out shortly. Alexa was rolled out to Amazon’s shopping app on iOS in early 2017.

With Alexa coming to Amazon, users will definitely have a different shopping experience. If you prefer your favourite track playing while you look for a new pair of shoes, then Alexa will be able to help with that. Alexa can also let you know about the weather outside or set a reminder for an event. The most useful feature of Alexa will be the ability to search for a certain product without typing anything on the window.

We don’t know if Amazon has added certain features to Alexa like a reminder of a sale related to the user’s favourite product or about certain new arrivals in a particular segment. What we know for sure that Amazon’s latest move to push Alexa to one of the world’s most popular shopping platforms will certainly help it make a name for itself against the Google Assistant.
