Beware! Child porn is hidden in legal adult sites, you could be sued
Commercial porn websites are reportedly hiding paedophile content within legal adult content. People who are subscribing to these adult entertainment websites, or searching for free porn online can risk stumbling into child pornography which are said to be hidden in legal websites by criminals. Those who are unaware of this illegal content are advised to stay safe before you have the cops knocking on your door.
According to the Internet Watch Foundation, a total of 78 per cent of all confirmed child sexual abuse imagery are hosted by image hosting sites and 21 per cent of the webpages were confirmed as containing child sexual abuse imagery and are assessed as commercial. The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), the online child sexual abuse charity, revealed that there was a staggering increase in the number of reports of illegal child sexual abuse images and videos, and it was removed from the internet last year. 68,092 reports were positively identified as containing illegal child sexual abuse imagery and taken down, which is a whopping 417 per cent increase in a two year period. Out of this, a 118 per cent of increase in illegal child abuse images and videos are reported in the last year itself.
According to The Guardian, the IWF has uncovered almost 743 websites that contain child abuse imagery hidden under the legal websites and marked as commercial and legal. Criminals and dark porn website operators are using a new technique to display child porn content if the same website is accessed using a different specific link(s).
The Guardian also mentions that Fred Langford, chief executive of the UK charity, warned netizens searching for porn online, stating that they may be at higher risks by accidentally falling for these dark links that could create trouble for them legally. “It’s extremely significant,” he said. “Some people may think they’re going to legal adult content but they unfortunately have picked up the cookies on the way that means that they are served the child sexual abuse material. There’s a huge risk there.”
People who accidentally, or wishfully access the child porn content could land in trouble as the cyber watch dog investigations will reveal owner and location of the computer from where the content was accessed. “If somebody is arrested on suspicion of [accessing child abuse images], it makes it much more difficult for them to prove their innocence.”
