Resurrecting a classic name from the 1990s and mixing it with a modern package — added sharp styling alongside new developed powertrain technology which brings together a twin-turbocharged V6 with electric-drive motors. It will be competing against similar hybrid vehicles like the BMW i8 and Audi R8.
The petrol motor is mounted on the rear of the NSX which is a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 churning out 500bhp. Additionally, there is also a direct-drive electric motor mounted in the rear that boots acceleration and also charges the batteries for the hybrid powertrain system.
There are two electric motors which independently drive the front wheels, thus making the NSX all-wheel drive. The gearbox is a nine-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and the power is directed to the rear wheels.
Total bhp is 573 with 476Nm of torque. Fuel economy is slated to be 21 mpg for the city and 22 mpg highway.
Passenger cabin features include Integrated Driver Dynamics system, which offers drivers four different driver modes to choose from. Other available features include a navigation system, dual-zone climate control, premium audio, satellite radio, heated seats, 7-inch touchscreen, power seats, tilt/telescope steering wheel, keyless ignition alongside carbon-fibre engine cover and rear spoiler.
Safety features included are dual-front, side, knee and side curtain airbags with rollover sensor, stability control, traction control, ABS with brake assist and electronic brake distribution. Built in Marysville, Ohio, the NSX will be priced at $156,000, not including a $1,800 destination fee.
