Pokemon Go international launch delayed due to server issues

The developers are aware of the problem and is working hard to fix it.

Ever since the augmented reality mobile game Pokemon Go has launched, it has become a phenomenon. Although the game is currently available in US, Australia and New Zealand, the release for the other nations has been halted due to an ongoing server glitch.

In a statement to Business Insider, Niantic, a spinoff of Google parent Alphabet, that co-created “Pokemon-Go” with Nintendo and The Pokemon Company said that the team is aware of the problem and is working hard to fix it.

In addition, Niantic’s CEO John Hanke stated, ‘While they fix the server capacity, international roll out of the game to other countries is paused until the company is comfortable.’

According to a report provided by App Annie statistics, Pokemon Go has hit the number one spot in less then a day on US’s Apple’s App Store.

Besides it, looking at the downloading trend, Hanke said, ‘We thought the game would be popular, but it obviously struck a nerve.’

Although the developers are working towards fixing the glitch, they haven’t confirmed a concrete release date for its international launch.
