McDonalds, Burger King could fire staff if this works well

The burger-flipping robot called Flippy by Miso Robotics has managed to make a perfect burger at a restaurant called CaliBurger.

The fear of machine taking over human jobs is real. What is described as a ‘burger-flipping robot,’ just completed its first day on job at a restaurant in California with success. This restaurant has now replaced all its human employees at grill with machines.

The burger-flipping robot called Flippy by Miso Robotics has managed to make a perfect burger at a restaurant called CaliBurger. “Much like self-driving vehicles, our system continuously learns from its experiences to improve over time,” David Zito, Chief Executive Officer of Miso Robotics was reported by The Telegraph as saying.

“Though we are starting with the relatively ‘simple’ task of cooking burgers, our proprietary AI software allows our kitchen assistants to be adaptable and therefore, can be trained to help with almost any dull, dirty or dangerous task in a commercial kitchen — whether it’s frying chicken, cutting vegetables or final plating.”

Flippy comes equipped with cameras and sensors that allows the machine determine whether the meal is fully prepared. After this process, a human employee takes over and adds condiments.

Miso Robotics plans on introducing more Flippy robots by the end of 2019.
