Cisco unveils new storage server with data protection solutions

Cisco also announced its ONE Enterprise Cloud Suite,' that is tailored as a hybrid cloud software solution.

Cisco recently introduced UCS S-Series – a new storage-optimised server with data protection solutions to help enterprises carry out transition to active data and hybrid cloud software adoption smoothly.

‘We store million of voice records for our end users every month. The UCS S-Series provides us a more cost-effective means of offering them this service with second-tier storage,’ said Brian Humphreys, Vice President of Infrastructure Delivery at Xerox as reported by Economic Times.

Their latest UCS S3260 Storage Server is designed to handle the growth of data created by the Internet of Things, video, mobility, collaboration and analytics. The former is further equipped to deliver scalability and cloud connectivity with the aim to help customers transform their data into business intelligence and insights.

By taking up to 60 per cent less space and 59 per cent less power, the UCS S3260 lowers the total cost of ownership by over 50 per cent in comparison to public cloud. The server further provides a wide range of capacity and performance options with up to 600 Terabytes of storage capacity per system.

Alongside this, Cisco also announced its ‘ONE Enterprise Cloud Suite,’ that is tailored as a form of hybrid cloud software solution to deliver a self-service portal for end users, application developers and IT professionals.
