Epson's WorkForce WF-100 portable printer is a marvel of miniaturisation — a colour inkjet printer for A4 paper or 4-by-6 inch photo paper, that weighs just 1.6kg and fits neatly into a shoulder bag along with your laptop. This is a wireless printer which works with Wi-Fi, as well as the new Wi-Fi Direct standard — which means it does not require a router and can print directly from an Android phone or tablet. The rechargeable battery is rated to print 100 monochrome or 50 colour pages, on a full charge.
The WF-100 takes the old style 2-cartridge pack, one for black, the other for colour...not quite as economical as today's tank systems, but that is the price of portability. An LCD screen is a useful interface between phone or PC and printer. Print speed is reasonable — between 3 and 6 pages a minute. And so is the price— Rs 20,999 — considering the convenience.
