CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurates state-wide sports initiative promoting talent and healthy competition

Hyderabad: In a bid to promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth, and to provide them with a platform to showcase their talent both at the national and international level, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today launched the first-ever and also the biggest state-wide sporting extravaganza called 'Aadudam Andhra.' This one-of-its-kind youth outreach programme aims to foster sportsmanship and a spirit of healthy competition.

Commencing on December 15, the event will take place in every village or Ward Secretariat, utilizing the best available sporting facilities. Winners from the knock-out rounds will advance to the final event scheduled for February 3 at the Dr YS Rajashekar Reddy Stadium in Visakhapatnam. However, registrations for all 5 sports have begun from today. Online registration is open to all residents of the state who are 15 years of age or older. Participants can register as a team or individually for sporting events spanning from the GSWS level to the state level.

Featuring competitive events in five sports—Cricket, Badminton, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, and Volleyball—this pioneering sporting initiative by the Government offers an unprecedented opportunity for residents of the state. From the village level to the state level, individuals can actively participate, expressing their passion for sports and simultaneously imbibing the significance of a healthy lifestyle. The initiative includes separate tournaments for both men and women, ensuring inclusivity across genders.

The Government will be sponsoring free sports kits for every player in preparation for their matches. This initiative aims to ensure that each participant has an equitable and competitive opportunity to showcase their skills on the field. Additionally, all venues will be equipped with appropriate medical facilities.

Notably, victorious participants will have the chance to claim cash prizes from a substantial prize pool amounting to Rs 12 crore. While this edition marks the inception of Aadudam Andhra, the Andhra Pradesh Government is committed to hosting subsequent editions annually. This recurring event will continue to serve as a unique platform for local sporting talent to exhibit their abilities.

Prize Money for Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi & Volleyball
At the Constituency level, the first-place winners receive a cash prize of Rs 35,000, the second-place winners receive Rs 15,000, and the third-place winners receive Rs 5,000. At the District level, the first-place winners are awarded Rs 50,000, the second-place winners receive Rs 30,000, and the third-place winners receive Rs 10,000. Moving to the State level, the first-place winners are granted Rs 5 lakh, the second-place winners receive Rs 3 lakh, and the third-place winners receive Rs 2 lakh.

Prize Money for Badminton
At the Constituency level, the first-place winners receive a cash prize of Rs 20,000, the second-place winners receive Rs 10,000, and the third-place winners receive Rs 5,000. At the District level, the first-place winners are awarded Rs 35,000, the second-place winners receive 20,000, and the third-place winners receive Rs 10,000. Moving to the State level, the first-place winners are granted Rs 2 lakh, the second-place winners receive Rs 1 lakh, and the third-place winners receive Rs 50,000.

To enhance participation across the community, Aadudam Andhra will feature non-competitive events such as yoga, marathons, tennikoit, and other local sports.
