Amanpreet Ahulawalia inches closer to title

Sandeep Sharma held on to his third place, 24 seconds behind Bopaiah and 52 behind Amanpreet.

Dirang Valley (Arunachal Pradesh): Amanpreet Ahulawalia extended his good run on the second day of the JK Tyre Arunachal Festival of Speed here on Sunday, taking four of the five special stages to stay in contention for the overall championship.

Riding a Maruti Gypsy, the former Indian National Rally champion registered a time of 34 minutes and 32 seconds to open up a comfortable 28 seconds lead over the second placed K.M Bopaiah.

Sandeep Sharma held on to his third place, 24 seconds behind Bopaiah and 52 behind Amanpreet.

In the Sprint Runs for the local drivers, Babit Lyngdoh continued to rule the rooster, enjoying an eight second advantage over his six opponents after four more rounds on Sunday.

Lyngdoh registered six minutes and 56 seconds while Amitabh Indar held on to the second spot with 7:04 minutes. Kevin Puro was third at 7:12 minutes.
