He needs to rein his neck: David Lloyd slams Virat Kohli for aggression vs Australia

The English commentator feels that the Team India skipper likes to act differently in front of the camera.

Mumbai: Team India skipper Virat Kohli is always charged up, whether it's doing the talking with the bat or marshalling his troops on the cricket pitch. The Indian talisman is one of the most fierce personalities in the game and never likes holding back.

This was witnessed when the heated rivalry between Australia and India resumed, with Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis trying to get under the Indian captain’s skin.

Earlier, Kohli's aggressiveness did not go down well with the Australian media who vilified him on multiple instances during Australia’s Test tour of earlier this year.

And now former English cricketer-turned-commentator David Lloyd feels that Kohli should rein his belligerence, adding he does it to hog all the limelight.

“I’ve been watching India v Australia and I’ve detected that young Mr Kohli has a lot to say when a wicket falls,” Lloyd, who is known as Bumble wrote in his column on Skysports.com.

“He seems to have a lot to say to the batsmen, I’m not sure I’m agreeing with all that. He likes a bit of camera work and he likes a word with the batsman who has just been dismissed. No, rein your neck in, lad,” the English commentator stated.

Kohli scored an influential knock of 92 in the 2nd ODI against India, helping India to make it 2-0 before his side wrapped the series in the 3rd ODI on Sunday, thanks to a dazzling all-around display from Hardik Pandya.
