More, Kunal Kapoor in Ranji probables for Karnataka

Even pacer Ronit More's comeback from Himachal Pradesh has turned fruitful as he has been included for the camp.

Bengaluru: With the new Ranji Trophy season a few months away, the Karnataka State Cricket Association senior selection committee announced 29 probables along with four specialist bowlers for the camp, beginning from Thursday.

Apart from the established squad to be skippered by all-rounder R. Vinay Kumar, the selectors, keeping an eye on the availability of the star cricketers on national duty, have named a few youngsters for the forthcoming season.

Owing to their impressive outing in the recently concluded KSCA Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial, Safi Darashah cricket tournaments and the first division league, a handful have been named in the list.

Having made his debut four years ago against Uttar Pradesh, off-spinner Gowtham K, who bagged 42 scalps in the KSCA league, has been included.
KC Cariappa and lanky pacer Prasidh Krishna, who picked up a five-wicket haul on his first-class debut against Bangladesh ‘A’ last season, have earned their spot.

Even pacer Ronit More’s comeback from Himachal Pradesh has turned fruitful as he has been included for the camp. Having missed the previous Ranji season playing top grade cricket in the United Kingdom, the selectors have given another opportunity to top-order bat, Kunal Kapoor.

Herons Cricket Club batsmen Arjun Hoysala and Rohit Gowda also have made the cut. Joining them in the list are leg-spinner Praveen Dubey, all-rounder Anirudh Joshi, and batsman Mir Kaunian Abbas.
