Hyderabad: P. S. Chaitanya Reddy came up a fine knock as the Hyderabad U-23 team got off to a good start in their Col C. K. Nayudu Trophy Plate division semifinal against Saurashtra being played at the Gymkhana ground here.
The hosts finished the opening day on Thursday at an impressive 280 for 4 with captain P. Rohit Reddy and in-form Tanay Thyagarajan were at the crease with 45 and 9 against their names respectively when stumps were drawn for the day.
Earlier, No.4 Chaitanya smashed nine boundaries and three sixes in his 161-ball 90 that boosted the side’s total.
