Mumbai: Nationalism attained a new high during the ICC World Twenty20 match between India and Bangladesh at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The thriller, clinched by India in the last ball, saw a new side of star cricketer Virat Kohli.
When he was fielding at deep, his fans started chanting: “Virat, Virat!” The batsman, instead of soaking in the praises, turned to them and gestured to ‘India’ written on the jersey.
The cricketer doesn’t consider himself greater than the nation even in a situation where he could have enjoyed the attention and forget about everything else.
