Kohli could have shared Man of the Match award in Kolkata: Kuldeep Yadav's coach

Hat-trick hero Kuldeep's coach also said that the wickets of Steve Smith and David Warner would have been icing on the cake.

Kanpur: Kuldeep Yadav's coach, Kapil Pande, has the only regret that the Australian captain Steven Smith and the aggressive opener David Warner were not the victims of china-man bowler's latest hat-trick during the second India versus Australia ODI at the Eden Gardens on Thursday.

The 22-year-old slow-left arm wrist spinner is the only player having hat-tricks in ODI and the Under-19 World Cup (against Scotland at Dubai in 2014).

"It would have been an icing on the cake had these two (Smith and Warner) been the victims of his hat-trick," said Pande.

"The wicket (at the Eden Gardens) was new and only helping the pacers and on this wicket the hat-trick achiever's performance was remarkable," said Kuldeep’s coach, who had watched the entire match on TV.

"Initially Kuldeep's bowling was not up to the mark. There was no proper line and length in his deliveries. I did bring this to his notice after the match when he called up and also advised him to concentrate only on proper line and length without worrying about the wickets. The wickets will come automatically," the coach added.

Kapil Pande also said that the Indian captain Virat Kohli should have been "generous" enough to share his Man of the Match (MoM) award (for his 92 runs) with either Bhuvneshwar Kumar for his splendid three-wicket haul (3/9) or/and Kuldeep for the hat-trick, which is not a commonly achievable.

"Kohli is a senior member of the team and he could have encouraged the junior players by sharing the honour," Pande signed off.
