BCCI to host first-ever conclave in Dharamsala

The four-day conclave will include a series of workshops and meetings.

New Delhi: The BCCI will discuss ways to make the workings of the Board more "transparent and efficient", besides focusing on steps to strengthen the domestic cricket season and take IPL to new heights, in its first-ever annual conclave in Dharamsala from June 21-24.

The conclave will be held at the HPCA Stadium prior to the Cricket Board's working committee meeting, during which it is also expected to announce the name of the new Indian team coach less than a fortnight before the squad leaves for the West Indies.

The four-day conclave will include a series of workshops and meetings. It will start with a workshop for media managers of all state cricket associations, which includes a session on digital media. It will be followed by a conference of coaches and captains, IPL Governing Council, Junior Committee and Affiliation Committee meeting. The conclave will wrap up on June 24 with the working committee meeting.

BCCI President Anurag Thakur said: "This is the first time BCCI is hosting a four day long conclave that aims at getting all stakeholders at one place and align everyone's thoughts for improvement of the sport."

Secretary of the BCCI, Ajay Shirke said, "Timing of this conclave couldn't have been better. We are about to step into one of the most exciting cricket seasons and this is a perfect opportunity to bring everyone under one roof and discuss ideas and how to implement them."

The conclave will focus on steps to strengthen one of the biggest domestic cricket seasons of the world and ways to take IPL, the fastest growing league in the world, to new heights.

Members will also deliberate on how to make the BCCI more transparent and efficient.
