Ind vs Eng: James Anderson ruled out of Chennai Test

The England pacer won't feature in the final Test due to body soreness.

Chennai: In what could be a big blow for England, James Anderson has been ruled out of the fifth and final Test against India, here, starting Friday.

The England pace-bowling spearhead won’t play in the Chennai Test due to body soreness.

Skipper Alastair Cook, in his press conference on Thursday, said that Anderson is just sore after the Mumbai Test.

"Unfortunately Jimmy is ruled out - he's picked up body soreness from the last game. So he's not going to be risked. It is a bit of everything, ankle and shoulder. We are trying to look after him,” said Cook on Anderson’s injury.

Anderson, who could not feature in the first Test in Rajkot, played the next three Tests. Although he could not much of the impact with the ball, his absence could further dampen England’s spirit.
