BCCI to decide DDCA fate on February 8

Secretary Anurag Thakur says ticket sales for ICC World Twenty20 to start from February 9.

Mumbai: BCCI Honorary Secretary Anurag Thakur on Friday said that the board will take a final call on Delhi District and Cricket Association (DDCA) on February 8.

“We have a plan B in case DDCA fails to acquire the No Objection Certificate. The final call will be taken a month prior to the start of ICC World T20, which is February 8, and the sale of tickets will start from February 9,” Thakur said.

Talking about the Lodha report, Thakur he said: “Let me make it clear, we believe in transparency and the last nine months, we have taken steps in the right direction.

“I have written to state associations to call meetings. We are not taking any escape route.”

Thakur said that the board will put forward their view in the next hearing and a meeting is likely to be held on February 13.

On Thursday, the Supreme Court told BCCI that the board has no choice but accept Chief Justice RM Lodha’s report and there will be no second chance.

The report was written with an aim to clean Indian cricket.

The board has been set a deadline of March 3 to review and understand the report.
