Congress MLAs who joined ruling party worried amid competition for BRS tickets

ADILABAD: Some Congress MLAs and leaders from other parties who had joined the BRS are now feeling insecure. Amid a spirited competition for the ruling party tickets for the upcoming assembly polls, they are worried about their future.

There are several aspirants from the BRS for most constituencies and these include former MLAs, ZP chairman etc in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

The Congress leadership has stated emphatically that the 12 Congress MLAs who joined the BRS will not be taken back. News is that many of these elders did not get any assurance for the BRS party ticket from chief minister KCR and they are spending sleepless nights.

Some of the defected Congress MLAs had got good positions in the BRS and in the government and are sure of getting tickets for the next assembly elections.

Speculations are that the candidature of the Congress MLAs who joined the BRS would be approved by the top leadership selectively, meaning if their winning chances are bright, in the erstwhile Adilabad, Warangal or Khammam district.

There are two or three strong contenders for the BRS ticket in most assembly constituencies.

The party leadership meanwhile asked some leaders to get actively involved in party work seriously and be in touch with the public.

Leaders who are sure of getting the party ticket have intensified their activities as is evident in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

Asifabad MLA Atram Sakku and ZP chairperson Kova Laxmi are keen on demonstrating their strengths by mobilizing the public for chief minister Chandrashekara Rao’s scheduled meeting here on June 30.
