Eshwarappa blames Congress' turncoat leaders for internal bickering in BJP

Hubballi: Acknowledging that there is internal bickering in the state BJP, Karnataka former Deputy Chief Minister and senior party leader KS Eshwarappa blamed the Congress leaders who shifted to the BJP, for the indiscipline.

Eshwarappa made the remarks during a press conference held in Hubballi.
"During the time when there were four of us, the party enjoyed commendable discipline. However, the party recently had some influence from the Congress. Several Congress leaders and workers joined the BJP and we welcomed them into our fold, and are now facing its consequences" Eshwarappa admitted.

He said that the party did not suffer any setback in the elections due to the presence of turncoats.

"Though the turncoats didn't adversely impacted the party in the elections, I feel the Congress' influence has created instances of indiscipline on the BJP. We will rectify it promptly," he added.

When asked if the party high command was weak in managing its members, Eshwarappa stated that the BJP's high command could never be weak.

"They are well aware of the latest developments in the party. Although they maintain silence at present, they will take appropriate action when the time is right," he added.
