YSRC's mistakes helped Naidu win polls: Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy

YSRC would have come to power in 2014 but our mistakes helped Chandrababu Naidu become CM.

Nellore: YSR Congress senior leader and MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said that the party’s mistakes helped Chandrababu Naidu come to power and it won’t repeat them in the next elections. However, he did not elaborate what the mistakes were.

Mr Rajamohan Reddy was addressing a public meeting held in Nellore on the occasion of former Congress leader Anam Vijayakumar Reddy, his son Karthikeya Reddy and their followers joining YSR Congress in the presence of YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“YSRC would have come to power in 2014 but our mistakes helped Chandrababu Naidu become CM. We are not going to repeat this again. 2019 election is going to be an acid test for us and I request Jagan not to commit even a small mistake. CBN graph is falling rapidly and it's time for us to make use of the opportunity to gain power,” the senior YSR Congress leader asserted.

“Not only people of Nellore district, YSRC people’s representatives including MPs, MLAs and ZP chairman are ready to walk with you. Not only Nellore district, people in the other districts where YSRC is benefited and even in the districts where the party is affected are rethinking now,” the MP told Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He attributed the trend in favour of YSRC to mistake after mistake Chandrababu Naidu has been committing, reference the “cash-for-vote scam” in Hyderabad, real estate business in new capital and the way he is admitting YSRC legislators into the TD. He advised YSR Congress leaders and cadres to behave in a dignified manner to gain the confidence of the public.

Meanwhile, party convener Kakani Govardhan Reddy assured Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy that none of the legislators from Nellore would leave the party. He said that Nellore people are showing the same affection to Jagan Mohan Reddy which they showed during elections. Mr Jagan opened a new party office at Magunta Layout after the meeting.
