Jagan case: NIA files chargesheet

The NIA stated accused Srinivasa Rao as A1 and attached a 22 pages letter written by the accused to the chargesheet.

Vijayawada: National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a preliminary charg-esheet on Wednesday on the case regarding the attack on State Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam Airport earlier.

The NIA stated accused Srinivasa Rao as A1 and attached a 22 pages letter written by the accused to the chargesheet. The NIA informed the court that the investigation will continue in the case.

Meanwhile, AP Police team SIT expressed its inability to provide all the details of the case as a petition filed by the AP Government has been pending in the High Court. Related to the statement, the SIT submitted a memo in the NIA Court, Vijayawada. The advocates of NIA, SIT and the advocate of the accused raised their versions in the NIA Court on Wednesday.

The NIA team handed over the chargesheet to the court and urged the court to not issue copies of the chargesheet for further investigation and the Judge ordered the staff to keep the privacy of the chargesheet records. The remand of the accused Srinivas will be completed on Jannuary 25.

Naidu Flayed for Obstructing probe by NIA

Flaying Chandrababu Naidu Government for creating hurdles at each step to the NIA investigation, in the attack on Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy case, YSR Congress has said that the party is prepared to face the combined effort of TD, Jana Sena, Congress and BJP in the ensuing election.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said: “The State Government has been trying to stall the NIA investigation into the case of bid on the life of Leader of Opposition but the truth will come out and all those involved in the conspiracy will be revealed soon. Mr Naidu has been constantly moving from one court to the other to stall the probe by the NIA and has been twisting his crooked tongue too often, but law will take its own course and bring the culprits to book.”

She added that the manner in which the TD Government has been trying to hush up the Vizag Airport case makes it clear that big names are involved in the conspiracy case.
