Jana Chaitanya Yatra war on TRS: Laxman

The yatra will start from Yadadri after performing puja at the Basheerbagh temple at Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: State BJP president K. Laxman said the Jana Chaitanya Yatra scheduled from Saturday will “create vibrations” in Telangana politics. He said the aim of the yatra was to declare war on the TRS government and to portray the Congress and the TRS as culprits before the people.

Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, he said BJP president Amit Shah was likely to visit the state on July 12. The yatra will start from Yadadri after performing puja at the Basheerbagh temple at Hyderabad.

Dr Laxman said that the Congress had started a campaign alleging a secret TRS-BJP pact. He said the Congress and the TRS had sailed with the MIM, and the BJP did not need to have a secret pact with any party.

Both parties had cheated the BCs; they were treating the BCs, SCs and STs as vote banks. He asked why the Congress had not categorised SC reservations. “It is is ridiculous for the Congress to now say it will bring in SC categorisation if voted to power, Dr Laxman said. He said the TRS government had become “family rule”. He alleged it was not spending Central funds released for panchayats.
