Harish thanks Jamiatul Ulama for supporting BRS

Hyderabad: Minister and TRS leader T. Harish Rao on Wednesday thanked Jamiatul Ulama of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for declaring its support to the BRS for the November 30 Assembly polls.

Addressing a meeting of representatives and leaders of Jamiatul Ulama, Harish Rao appealed to the minority communities to strengthen the BRS.

Harish Rao thanked Jamiatul Ulama Hind president Mufti Gayasuddin, and general secretary Mufti Zuber for the organisation’s decision to support the BRS and urged them to meet him regularly after the elections to discuss issues relating to the community. He also promised to work as a bridge between the Jamiatul Ulama and the state government to resolve any issue.

He said the Congress was acting in an arrogant manner and was hoping that the Mulsim community would support it though it never worked for the community’s welfare or uplift.

“While seeking votes is not wrong, Congress leaders and cadre are spreading false news and propaganda against the BRS which is poised to form its government for the third time with your blessings. Though we deal with the Central government as representatives of the state government, the BRS has nothing in common with the BJP as a party. Our state government is continuously fighting against the BJP,” he said.

Harish Rao said the Governor was stalling several Bills passed in Assembly and Cabinet so that the government can be blamed. “The Governor rejected Bills of RTC, university recruitment and so on. If we had better ties with BJP, why would the Governor reject the Bills sent by the BRS government,” he asked.

Harish Rao said Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao and all leaders of BRS worked to strengthen secularism. “KCR has been taking care of people irrespective of their religion. You have given me a list of mosques and those, which need repairs, will be repaired. In Siddipet, I won six times with an increasing majority each time. It cannot happen without work. I am here to work as a mediator between you and the government.”
