TRS has spent Rs 1,000 crore so far, alleges TD

Mr Ramana said that Mr Rao had polluted the political atmosphere in the state and was trying to buy people with money power.

HYDERABAD: Alleging that the TRS had spent more than Rs 1,000 crore so far in the state to win elections, TD state president L. Ramana said caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was misusing official machinery and targeting Opposition parties under the guise of investigations into hawala transactions.

He demanded that Mr Rao answer the charges of TS home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy who said he was offered Rs 10 crore to forego his Musheerabad constituency and contest from LB Nagar. He said Rs 27 lakh was confiscated from a TRS leader, Palle Gopal.

Mr Ramana said that Mr Rao had polluted the political atmosphere in the state and was trying to buy people with money power. Telugu Yuvatha vice-president Vallabhaneni Anil Kumar was targeted by Mr Rao’s media organisations, he said.

He said, “KCR was trying to implicate AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and me in the unauthorised transportation of money and he should desist from such moves.”
