YSRC playing up Roja issue, says Prattipati

Mr Pulla Rao alleged that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give any chance to his MLAs to speak in the Assembly.

Guntur: Minister for agriculture P. Pulla Rao has alleged that the YSR Congress is trying to politicise the suspension of its MLA R.K. Roja and hence boycotted the Assembly.

He said the court did not object to the decision of the Speaker but the YSRC was trying to derive political mileage on the suspension issue.

The minister clarified that as per the court order, Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao gave permission for a debate or discussion on the Roja suspension issue, but YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy insulted the Assembly by not participating in the debate. Mr Pulla Rao alleged that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give any chance to his MLAs to speak in the Assembly.

Instead, he took nearly three hours for himself. Mentioning about the demand of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy about a CBI inquiry into the land purchases in Amaravati by TD leaders, he demanded that the YSRC chief surrender his illegal assets to the government if he trusted the CBI.

In another press meet, Vinukonda MLA G.V. Anjaneyulu and former minister Dokka Manik-yavaraprasad Rao came down heavily on the YSRC. Addressing a press meet at NTR Bhavan, the two alleged that YSRC MLA Roja insulted TD MLA Anitha and ignored the Assembly privilege committee’s three notices seeking explanation from her about her behaviour in the Assembly. They added that the Assembly and courts ha-ve their own rights but Mr Jagan was trying to mislead the public on this issue by politicising the Roja issue.

Objecting to the obstruction of the Assembly Sessions for the past two weeks by the YSRC, they urged YSRC legislators to shun political conspiracies against the TD and try to resolve public issues in the Assembly.
