Kejriwal Singes 'Ally' Congress Over State of Chandigarh Govt Schools

Raipur: Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday announced 10 guarantees for Chhattisgarh if his party is voted to power in the state in the impending Assembly polls. The AAP chief said he will declare the sops for tribals and farmers in the state during his next visit.

The 10 guarantees included a 24-hour uninterrupted power supply free up to 300 units per month to every household, free medical treatment and education, a monthly incentive of Rs 1,000 "samman rashi" (honorarium) to all women aged above 18 years and a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 each for unemployed youths.

Addressing a convention of the AAP workers and leaders here, Mr Kejriwal said that the 10 guarantees given by him were not merely election promises but a commitment to the people of Chhattisgarh.

He said that the AAP governments in Delhi and Punjab have fulfilled promises made by the party before the elections in these states.

Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann was also present on the occasion.

Mr Kejriwal slammed the Bhupesh Baghel government for the alleged poor conditions of the schools in the state.

The Delhi chief minister claimed that he came across a report that detailed the terrible conditions in the schools in Chhattisgarh. He alleged that many schools were shut down by the government, while one teacher was found to be teaching 10 classes. Teachers were even deployed for work other than teaching, he alleged.

In the 2018 Assembly elections, the AAP had fielded candidates on 85 out of the total 90 seats in Chhattisgarh but failed to open its account.
