BJP plans bus yatras in September

ADILABAD: Come September and Telangana will see increased activity by the BJP with its top state leaders led by state party president G. Kishan Reddy, along with the likes of Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and Etala Rajendar embarking on bus yatras from three different places simultaneously. These bus yatras, scheduled to begin in the first week of September, are expected to culminate with a public meeting in Hyderabad on September 17, which if the party plans hold, could see Prime Minister Narendra Modi address a large gathering.

There are also some plans to invite veteran BJP leader LK Advani for the September 17 meeting, the day which the BJP observes as the Hyderabad Liberation Day.

According to party sources, Kishan Reddy will start his bus yatra from the historic Jodeghat in Kerameri mandal, where legendary Adivasi warrior Komaram Bheem fought for tribal rights. The first two days of Kishan Reddy’s yatra will cover some parts of Asifabad and Sirpur (T) Assembly constituencies.

Reports are that Sanjay Kumar will start his yatra from Bhadrachalam while the party’s elections committee chairman Rajendar will do so in Nizamabad district.

Senior party leader Palvai Harish Rao from Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency said that the route map for Kishan Reddy’s yatra is being finalised.

He said the first list of the party candidates for the Assembly elections will be released around the time the bus yatras take-off. The bus yatras will gather pace after Union home minister Amit Shah’s program in Khammam on August 27.

A meeting has been convened at the party’s state headquarters here to finalise route maps for the bus yatra. Several leaders will address gatherings at all mandal headquarters during the yatras.

Meanwhile, the party cadre and second-rung leaders are busy making arrangements for the weeklong MLA Pravas Yojana Vidhana sabha starting on August 20.

BJP MLAs from Maharashtra, Bunty Bhangdiya and Sadeep Dhurve will stay in Sirpur (T) and Asifabad Assembly constituencies, respectively.
