BJP begins Twitter campaign' in Andhra Pradesh

This trend began right after the Centre sanctioned a Central University for AP, and provided it Rs 450 crore.

Hyderabad: The BJP has unleashed its campaign in Andhra Pradesh, at least on Twitter. BJP accounts started trending #Modi4Andhra Development to an extent that even BJP MPs from Uttar Pradesh picked up the tweets and started sharing it.

The tweet read: “People of Andhra Pradesh should not believe in the propaganda spread by local political parties. Narendra Modi govt in the centre is committed to the development of the state. #Modi4AndhraDevelopment (sic)”.

Twitter handles of Union minister of state for finance and shipping Pon Radhakrishnan from Kanyakumari and Uttar Pradesh MPs Rajveer Singh and Bhola Singh tweeted the same, with similar images. This trend began right after the Centre sanctioned a Central University for AP, and provided it Rs 450 crore.

Twitter users from the Telugu states soon started trolling the minister. A user who goes by the handle @vaspotluri responding to Dr Bhola Singh asked “Mr Bhola Singh, what propaganda you are referring here. Is it same propaganda by people of Gorakhpur. It's not propaganda Sir. It’s people anger. Damage to #BJP continues until you don't understand this difference (sic)”.

Another user, Venkatapathi Raju K., wrote, “#Modi4AndhraDevelopment The BJP AP is living in fool's paradise. The mandate given to Modiji govt is 5 yrs, not even 15% of the provisions of the act fulfilled in 4yrs. The AP govt allowed to stay for 10yrs in Hyd, when it came out in1yr u can't take10yrs for act implementation (sic).”

A former BJP IT cell official said the content uploaded could be same because as part of their IT cell they create content and put it up online for anybody to pick up. “Sometimes we are an organised group of 15-20 people who create content and upload it. It is not always possible for all followers to create content. All this is free content, which anybody can pick up and post,” said Mr Kalluri Kiran Chandra, former secretary of the AP BJP IT cell.
