Ramagundam: During the Congress’ Vijayabheri Bus Yatra on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi interacted with around 100 employees of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited and promised to stop its privatisation, at the Centenary Colony of Ramagundam Assembly segment.
He said Congress would take measures for their welfare, promising housing through SCCL to all workers before they retired. He said he would also try to abolish income tax on SCCL workers, on the lines of the Army.
Singareni workers working at the Mandamarri, Godavarikhani, and Bellampalli mines participated in the meeting, wearing their uniform, including a safety helmet, at the roadside.
TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy, AICC Telangana in-charge Manikarao Thakre, senior Congress leaders CLP Bhatti Vikramarka, Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Uttam Kumar Reddy participated in the bus yatra on the day.
