TM Thomas Isaac tried to spread panic, alleges BJP

It also blamed the CPM for creating problems with the help of pro-CPM bank employees.

Kottayam: The BJP has charged Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac with indulging in false propaganda against the centre over the demonetisation initiative and said the inconvenience caused to the people was the result of a “conspiracy by the CPM.”

The state council of the party, in its political resolution adopted at its meeting here on Wednesday, said Dr Isaac had used terms in economics to mislead the common people. Dr Isaac’s call to agitate against demonetisation was a challenge to the federal system, it said and asked him to apologise for creating panic among the people. It also blamed the CPM for creating problems with the help of pro-CPM bank employees.

The resolution said the Reserve Bank had estimated that Rs 4 lakh crore unaccounted money had reached the banks which proved that demonetisation was a success.
