T. Subbirami Reddy eying on the Visakhapatnam MP ticket

VISHAKHAPATNAM: Former union minister and ex-MP T. Subbirami Reddy on Friday said people have been asking him to contest from the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency once again.

“I will think about this matter and announce my decision soon,” he observed.

The former union minister, a permanent invitee of the Congress Working Committee, was speaking while celebrating his birthday at his residence in Visakhapatnam on Friday.

It is customary for Subbirami Reddy to celebrate his birthday every year on September 16 and September 17 in Visakhapatnam. However, the Congress Working Committee meeting will be held in Hyderabad on September 17. As a result, he celebrated his birthday in the port city on Friday itself amidst his supporters, friends, and well-wishers.

The former union minister said he has great admiration for the people of Visakhapatnam. He recalled the occasions when he brought cine, political and spiritual celebrities to Visakhapatnam and organised programmes on the occasion of his birthday.

Subbirami Reddy said the feeling that the Congress party is the only one responsible for the division of united Andhra Pradesh has been expressed all over the state. But the division of the state took place on the demand of all parties.

“There is a need to tell people of Andhra Pradesh that the Congress party is not the only one responsible for the division of the state,” he underlined.
